It is a deciduous climber that grows up to 1.0 meters. This plant has
dioecious flowers and is located in East Asia - China to the Himalayas.
1China root was once considered useful
in Europe for venereal and rheumatic disorders in the same way as
sarsaparilla. Though it is no longer used in indigenous medicines in
China, it continues to be used in India for the treatment of venereal
diseases, rheumatism and chronic skin affections. 2Smilax
glabra has showed anti-inflammation and detoxification properties in
different studies.

Smilax
